Originally hailing from Baltimore, Gotham Theory is jumping on the train to strip down rock music to the basics. Mixing big riffs and bluesy solos is a sound that may seem familiar to some, but mixing in a grooving rhythm section, Gotham Theory evolves to craft a unique sound that's sure to pack a punch.

A lot has happened in the last few years, but the band continues to write and record new music, even across three states. After forming Gothamwerks Records and Studio to produce and release their 2016 album, Why’d You Break Up With Me?, Gotham Theory has expanded to three separate locations they use to craft new releases. Forged in the same fire that their fans have come to expect, their latest works look to pay homage to past greats while carving a distinct identity built upon the values ever present since their first jam session: brotherhood and grit.

Splitting up geographically may have impacted their physical studio time, but it hasn’t slowed down the creative force behind the band. Recent isolation has presented the perfect opportunity to sharpen their DIY, distributed approach and are now laser focused on releasing continuous, quality music.

Following their 2016 self-produced, debut album, Gotham Theory made some serious noise in the Charm City. With performances at the city’s most popular venues, including sold out headline shows at Metro Gallery and supporting national touring acts, they dominated the local scene. The band performed at Artscape 2016, America’s Largest Free Arts Festival, which included a live feature on Baltimore’s ABC 2 News. With new music on the horizon, Gotham Theory is poised to have their biggest year yet.

“I think if John Lee Hooker could have developed precognition and been able to see down the generations to acts like Gotham Theory, he’d be happy.”

- Michael Wheeler, Current Music Thoughts

“Just for this band you should think about making a trip to Baltimore …why? to see them live…”

- Wolf in a Suit

“Their music is pure, gritty energy…

The songs are filled with razor sharp arrangements and terrific musicianship…

No clichés, no overwrought superhero solos, just plain hard-hitting rock n’ roll to the highest common denominator.”

- Rick Jamm, Jamshpere
